I have no quarrel with the level of care given by anyone that has come. However, in a meeting, before I started, it was agreed that the same two girls should be sent. I realised that this is not always possible, but what I object to most strongly is no notification of this. A letter is sent each week giving timings for visits, but this is often changed, and we are not told. Surely, we could be notified by phone?

I have Alzheimer's, and my husband has helped me with this. Covid and holidays made it difficult to meet the weekly rota, communication with us was poor, and arrivals have been up to two hours late. (In July even two hours early, which was unacceptable). Most carers are good, but some just want to be in and out, on to the next client on a crowded schedule. Lack of communication is the most annoying thing, even more so in these difficult times.

I have had a few problems with office staff not letting me know when the time and people have been changed. There have also been problems with being told that I haven't paid when it has been taken out of my bank account.
I am working hard with the team to address the issues you have raised and would like the opportunity to meet with you and resolve the issues raised.
Everyone who came was lovely, caring and helpful. Shortage of staff was a problem, and on occasions, I could wait two hours. If only someone could phone to say they were running late - incredibly frustrating.

Eden's carers vary. Some are excellent, others not so, and cut corners, usually because of the pressure of a near-impossible schedule with no realistic allowance for travel time. Scheduling is often very "last minute"! It is a weakness, as is communication between the office and the client or his/her household. Duty managers do not necessarily have all the relevant information to answer queries. The actual care given to clients by hard-pressed carers is on the whole considerably better than the management.
I would like the opportunity to discuss the points you have raised to enable us to raise this standard and look forward to implementing change to achieve this.

My husband needs 24-hour care. As his wife, I have provided this for 13 years. My husband, having deteriorated, goes into a care home regularly to give me a rest, but during the time he is at home, I needed more relief. Eden Care has provided exactly what I requested, and competent carers are with my husband for two-hour sessions when required. I have been delighted with the calibre of carers. My two-hour spells of freedom are marvellous, and I know he is safe.

My regular carer was an absolute gem.
Eden took on all our requests regarding change of times for visits and additional cover. The girls are all very nice. December 2020 was a very hard month for us and Eden's care and support was invaluable.
When my father was extremely ill and eventually died, Eden Care were very supportive and helpful, not just with the care for my father but also providing the family with support and information.
The two regular carers who looked after my mother's needs were wonderful - caring in the proper sense of the word. I consider ourselves very lucky indeed to have had such excellent support, especially through troubled pandemic days.
Overall, a very positive experience. Most of the staff were experienced and all were very thoughtful and caring and did their best, although it was clear they were short on staff and stretched for time. The administration could have been better - schedules were not always sent on time and we were not always told of changes in advance but all in all, they provided invaluable support during a very difficult time.
