She helped with the domestic care of dressing, showering and toilet arrangements for Mum and took her for walks out in Mum's wheelchair. She was more than just a carer she was keen to give her extra time to the companionship of Mum. When the carer had a day off the manager would deputise and it all worked seamlessly. When Mum passed away the carer was there with the family and the full-time carer. We were all more like a family than in a client-carer relationship.
