Caring is not and easy job and, requires a very specific type of person to do it really well, not least, because it can sometimes be very emotionally challenging. We have very high standard in recruitment and training, including me leading the first day of induction which is very much part of the on-boarding process. Something I always look for in the day is a strong understanding of person centred care and the role of a carer. As a provider that works almost exclusively with private clients and can therefore avoid the typical 'time and task' approach to care, we usually have capacity, even at Christmas. Punctuality is also a strength because our carers are not intensively rostered meaning they have sufficient travel time and, most importantly, time to care. Thank you for your positive review. I think you sum up very well, the important factors of all care but, home care in particular. Our carers are friendly not because we trained them to be, because they are, naturally. They are helpful because they care and the desire to help is at the basis of all care. They are professional because they are care professionals who, don't often get the recognition they deserve. You should look forward to the carers visits, it would be awful not to. We have a very strong selection and retention process then we support or carers to do the best job they can at every visit. Thank you. Read less

Rehabilitation is a very important part of our service, not least because NHS provision is very specific, rightly aimed at those with the greatest need, and also, time limited. We therefore provide a vital, sometimes unknown service and, it is very gratifying to assist a client to the point at which we are no longer required, even if that is a very short period of time. Thank you very much. Respite visits are an essential service for the client and particularly the client's family. Being a full time carer is physically, mentally and emotionally very demanding and carer fatigue is very real. We offer this for just a day or two or extended periods, it is of course all dependent on the client and their family. It also serves very well as an introduction to care to which, sometimes, there can be some anxiety or resistance. Thank you very much. I particularly appreciate that you point out that it is entirely possible to be efficient and still be caring. This is the essence of person centered care which requires a professional but entirely human approach. I fully understand the four star score for value for money but our fees are entirely driven by both National Minimum Wage and soon, the increase in Employers National Insurance Contributions. The costs of providing care which meets the CQC's standards of being Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led are now huge and sadly will only increase. Thank you so much for your kind review. Completing the 'tasks' on a care plan are obviously important and, can be critical. The importance of having genuinely caring staff who, have the time for conversation and to listen, should never be overlooked. This time also allows trained, professional caregivers to observe and monitor: is the client in good spirits?, are they communicating as usual, are they sitting comfortably -essentially looking for changes which could indicate, infection, progression of a condition or a low mood, all of which are hugely significant. A contributing factor to our responsiveness is that we only work in a person-centred way and as, we don't tender to the local authority, we do not intensively roster our CareGivers.
