Great service from Helping Hands - providing care for my Auntie in a dignified and professional way. I don't know how we would have coped without them, assisting with travel to and from hospital every day to support with cancer treatment- even staying on longer when there were delays at the hospital!

My mother, herself 87, had been selflessly caring for my 86-year-old father, who had been living with cancer for the past two years. When it became obvious that they both needed support, we reached out to Helping Hands on a friend's recommendation. Over the next two months, as Dad became weaker, Helping Hands were outstanding, not just in terms of the quality of care, but also in the speed and efficiency with which they adapted to Dad's changing needs. Eventually, they helped us to provide end-of-life care for Dad. During this time, two carers would visit him three times a day. Without exception, every single one of them was kind, compassionate, and brilliant at their job, from the youngest to the more experienced. We trusted them implicitly and looked forward to welcoming them into our home. At a heartbreaking time for our family, Helping Hands were our friends as well as Dad's carers, and we will always be grateful.

My father-in-law, although physically well for his age, was growing more vulnerable and less confident. He was adamant that he didn't want to leave his home, so Helping Hands came in to focus initially on housework. It was their daily visits which provided us with the assurance that he was okay, or sometimes to flag concerns. We will always be grateful for their gentle, kind and patient approach, and I would recommend them without reservation.

My mother has been receiving home support for over 8 years now and we have been happy with the way Helping Hands have responded to her changing needs. The care is generally reliable, efficient and friendly, without being over-familiar - Mum hates feeling patronised! The office staff are also unfailingly helpful, often in difficult circumstances. I would recommend the company.

Need to know when time and carer are changed - visit times are not suitable, e.g., 11 am to make lunch, 6 pm, or 9:30 pm to make hot chocolate. I have too many different carers, not all carers recycle or know how to cook basic meals. I'm not prepared to teach.

All carers are very committed to their work and are good company.

My dad had become increasingly frail and as we didn't live locally, we weren't able to give him the support he needed on a daily basis. Helping Hands were an absolute godsend - they were compassionate and understanding from the start, and we were able to put the care he needed in place very quickly. They have been flexible, so that we could change the support he needed as his needs changed. The carers that came out to him were unfailingly kind, friendly, competent and cheerful - not only supporting him with is care needs but also providing valuable social interaction. We are so appreciative, and very thankful that this care has meant he could stay in his home longer than otherwise would have been possible.

Helping Hands is able to tackle an enormous range of jobs through the skills of their workforce, and I very much appreciate their kindness and positivity. I have found it hard to accept that I need help, but the carers have coped with that sympathetically and patiently, making their visits more and more useful and pleasant. The cooking and the trips out have been excellent. They have done their best to exercise our ex-gundog springer spaniel, not easy in this residential area. Many thanks to you all for enabling me to stay in my home. I could not do it without you.

Our family has to find carers for both parents which was a bit daunting but Helping Hands proved to be invaluable to us. Every carer that visited were professional and lovely to deal with. It allowed me to go back to work knowing they were well looked after. They communicated with us which we needed as having both parents unwell was very hard. The whole process was made so easy and staff in the office always helped us out no matter what. This service let my parents stay in their home, which was very important. For the last four years Helping Hands have been caring for my mother. She had complex needs requiring four visits daily by two carers. The carers often had regular slots on regular days giving a reassuring continuity for mum and family. They were always cheerful and professional.

I have used Helping Hands to care for my elderly cousin for 15 months. Throughout this time they have been very helpful and willing to accommodate the variability in our care needs. Last weekend I was away for a short break when I received a call to say that my cousin was on the floor. The staff member present was superb. They remained with my cousin ensuring she was safe, called 101, and waited until Paramedics arrived.

During the day I was updated by staff as to my cousins condition. Additional visits in the evening were arranged. It was clear that all the staff clearly cared about my cousin and I was reassured that she was in safe hands.

Becoming a carer for your wife is hard, especially when it happens in your late 70s. Not only do you see her mental capacity diminishing but you can do less and less for yourself. Helping Hands provides support for both of you. Not only do they provide friendship for your wife but they enable you, for a few hours each week, to do something for you in the knowledge that your wife is in safe hands.

Helping Hands have assisted my Mother for a short period after she had to spend a few weeks in hospital, after the home re-enablement team helped settle her back at home, Helping Hands then took over responsibility until she felt ready and able to cope on her own. All the Helping Hands staff have been very friendly and professional throughout her care.

Helping Hands have been providing support for my mother for some years. There can be no better praise than to say that she has always been very happy with her care: she reports that staff are friendly, helpful, and ready to do things the way she likes them done. Staff are punctual and polite, well-briefed and capable. Recently she needed extra support at very short notice, and the office dealt with this most satisfactorily. A big thank you to all the staff at Helping Hands.

We chose Helping Hands Stroud as our choice of care provider for our mother.
The care is of a good standard, with the tasks on the care plans carried out well. The communication with the agency has been excellent, always clear, prompt, concise and easy. She has been a great facilitator.

The tasks on the care plan are carried out well, some of the carers that know mum well and are familiar, carry them out brilliantly and to a high standard and also complete the tasks within the timeframe always ensuring safety, privacy and dignity. This comes down to experience, familiarity of the individual carers, like all frameworks of employment. There will always be those less experienced and less conscientious but these are just a few and still learning. Helping Hands once aware have always demonstrated a quick response.
