Helping Hands are being used now following hip replacement surgery. (Also used in 2021, same reason - Hip mending, so hours for HH reducing. When booking, the office staff polite and helpful; arranged meeting to update facts from previous file.
Carers arrive punctually and with cheerful greeting... alert and willing to fulfil any assistance needed with personal care and further requests for help in home - as time allows.

This has included local walks (exercise) and local light shopping. Despite wishing for independence, I have been very appreciative of their support. (I also enjoy their different personalities)

I contacted Helping Hands Cosham and asked for an urgent assessment when I was discharged from hospital after a hip replacement. I was impressed with the speed of the response and how thorough the assessment was. I wasn't just asked about the help I needed but also about the type of person I would prefer. I made it clear that I wanted to be as independent as possible and only needed the specific assistance I required.
It was easy and straightforward to set up a care plan and I liked the degree of flexibility built in. I initially had helpers for two hours every day for two weeks, then as I could do more and more for myself I cut it down to an hour a day for a week, then three one hour visits in the fourth week by which time I mainly wanted support to go outside and walk with crutches.

All the helpers were pleasant, friendly, efficient and willing to do whatever I asked and I enjoyed the whole experience. I would recommend Helping Hands without reservation.

The Carers are all very polite and helpful. Very kind and patient in the way they deal with my husband. Very willing to help with anything.

Leave the bathroom clean and tidy. Always make sure that he has everything that he needs and that his fall watch is given to me if it needs charging. Careful to make sure that he is as safe as possible when he moves around.

All good so far. Service is exceptional. Carer turns up on time and does care plus taking Step mother in law, Cynthia, shopping, to cash point when needed when Cynthia has her card and pin. Does ironing for her so washed clothes don't pile up, cleans house and gives company for Cynthia.

We arranged for helping hands home care for my mum as I live 5 hours drive away. It's was important for us to have local care for mum. Alice came out to meet us and talked us through the care plan we needed and set everything up for us. The carers that have been taking care of mum have been amazing, special shout out to Poppy, Jess and Sineta and Johnathan who mum really gets on well with. They always take time to chat with mum and ensure she has everything she needs and ensure she has her dinner prepared on the days they visit. Helping hands have also been really supportive and very adaptive to mum's needs, as she recently had her cataract surgery she needed extra care to help with administration of her drops and they pulled together a rota to be able to support. I'm so glad we found helping hands they really deliver a fantastic level of care and we are so please we have them looking after mum.thank you for everything you do.

All carers treat mum with great respect, and nothing is too much trouble. Any concerns regarding mum are fed back to the office and prompt action is taken. Both carers and office staff go above and beyond to help in any way they can. I have nothing but praise for everyone involved in Mum's care.

The HH team have made a massive different to my dad's quality of life and independence. They know him well, and this is because the same carers regularly visit, so dad gets to know them too. They recognise when something is not right and take action. My dad is able to stay at home because they are there to help him, despite his needs changing over time.

It is most important that you try to keep to the timings because this causes clients anxiety. When there is delays due to traffic accidents, please call the client and inform them of the delay. There is nothing worse than waiting for a carer without information as to the cause of the delay.

Reply from Samuel Roberts, Partnerships Manager at Helping Hands Home Care (Basingstoke)

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We would always expect for you to be informed of any delays that might have been caused, I will be passing your feedback onto the Local Branch Team to investigate this further. Warm regards

I had your care from 2018-20 as I had a nervous breakdown - 3/4 hour morning and evening. Care and company you gave was excellent and reasonably priced. Now I only have 1/2 an hour an evening while I have a shower as I am afraid of falling on the concrete floor at the age of 93. Your price for that is so much more pro-rata and the timing varies considerably, your girls are all lovely.
