The Helping Hands team provided my Mum with the greatest care and support. She was initially resistant to having carers coming into her home. This changed over time and she was grateful for their help with medication. I noticed that the managers and carers would take the time to listen to her and do their best to action her request, or problem solve with us. The team cared for her safely, with dignity and with a wonderful sense of humour. They were interested in her. This approach enabled my Mum to have her desire to stay in her own home.

The team were very good at communicating with my Mum and me. The staff went out of their way to ensure that medication and care was current and required. I felt that there was a collective shared interest in Mum. This allowed me space in my own life, resulting in increased wellbeing. Thank you all, I am forever grateful.

The team have gone to extraordinary lengths to accommodate my (reluctant, and indeed obstructive) parents' complex needs, to tailor care and support for them. Their patience, understanding and diligence has been exemplary and I don't know what I would have done without their wisdom and support at this awful time. We now, at last, have live-in care in place, which is (fingers crossed!!) working better than I (..or the parents..) had ever imagined. Thank you so very much, Helping Hands Ferndown!

Helping Hands provided care for my 95 year old mum over about a year. They were able to adapt to mum's changing care needs latterly without fuss, often at very short notice. Can't thank the team enough for their support through this difficult time.

With dad having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, mum was finding life increasingly hard. We are so glad that we found Helping Hands, gradually introducing the care to a couple who had always been so independent. Dad found the carers friendly and caring which was obviously a great help to mum. As time went on, the need increased and we were so pleased that it meant dad was able to stay at home until the end, something he had always wanted.

My father received a carer from Helping Hands for a little over a year. This was once a week to help him shower and shave. The carer also gave him some simple exercises to help with his mobility. He chatted with my father engaging him in subjects my father was interested in. The carer was completely reliable and always on time. He had a fantastic attitude and was positive and encouraging. My father always seemed much brighter once the carer had visited. He clearly made a difference and we are all very grateful to him for that. Even when my father went into a care home the carer volunteered to continue his visits whilst they were of benefit to my father.

We've been going through an extremely tough 8 months....this last month we had to move the place of mums care...helping hands team were excellent in meeting the requirements. Addaping a plan that suited mum and the situations that have arrisen. Our thanks to the team for being so understanding and not adding to our situation and always trying to help!

The Ferndown team are providing caring and supportive assistance to my uncle who has dementia and lives on his own. The carers keep me updated in a timely fashion with any concerns or issues that need addressing and offer useful and helpful suggestions as to how to improve the support they give. As I live a distance away this is extremely useful and knowing that a carer visits daily reassures me that my uncle is safe and well.

Generally very supportive and helpful given that family do not live local to Mum. All carers work well and compassionately to support Mum despite continuity of Mum's carers being difficult to maintain. It is always easy to contact the branch either by phone or email. I feel my questions, concerns and requests are listened to and acted upon. All Mum's carers are respectful of her contribution to her own care, they listen to her and respect her wishes. Helping Hands support is allowing Mum to stay where she wants, in her own home.

It is likely that I will need my other knee dealt with later and I will have no hesitation in contacting Helping Hands again.

My mum has been diagnosed with dementia and latterly with a terminal disease. It has left her very confused at times but at other times she is fully aware of where she is and can get very upset about small changes. We have engaged Helping Hands to help ensure that medication is administered and that help and companionship is available.

They have been very flexible with changing needs and undertake various tasks to allow her to stay in her own home.

The Ferndown Team have been so caring and supportive for my father and their dedication and allowed him to stay in his own home for 3 years. They showed great flexibility and initiative in problem solving. He received the highest level of care and company during this time and we are so grateful for everything they have done.

My father was very much in need of care at home but very reluctant to allow anyone to come in. Eventually he agreed to Helping Hands, spoke to the manager who explained they could provide a minimal service for him to get used to someone calling in to help. The daily visits quickly became very important to him, and great help to family members knowing he had a professional going in every day. He eventually increased the time and the visits became a highlight of his day. The carers were very responsive to his requirements, helped keep his home clean and tidy, personal care, and a friendly face to chat to.

Helping Hands Poole have been amazing. They have provided my mother with the help and support she needed. She has thoroughly enjoyed the contact with all the different carers and has looked forward to seeing them throughout the day. All the carers I have personally come into contact with were happy, caring, efficient and were genuinely dedicated to their work. It is a big thank you from me.

I really value the Helping Hands early morning visits. I have discontinued other carers during the day, but value early support. I tend to be very self-sufficient.

Everybody was very friendly, very efficient and very professional. It was a pleasure to share with staff.

The customer day that Helping Hands do is lovely, I really enjoyed the cream tea and cake. The carrot cake was beautiful. The carers are lovely girls, all of them. I cannot fault them. I couldn't manage without them.
