I can't recommend Helping Hands enough. I was caring for my mother full-time and was so overwhelmed. After reaching out to many companies and either being ignored or told they didn't have capacity, Helping Hands came to the rescue.
They were so quick to respond to my initial enquiry and then came
and sat with us and discussed our needs. They immediately put together a rota that supported my mother and they have been so reliable ever since. They have responded to last minute requests from me quickly and politely and really have taken away so much pressure from our family. When speaking with third party health and support workers about my mothers care, when mentioning Helping Hands, they also agree that they are such a solid agency and great to deal with.
The care, dignity and friendly approach each carer bring is really appreciated and has given my mother something to look forward to each day. They are all a pleasure to deal with and I can't thank them enough.

My Dad is 93 and his regularly career has recently taken a holiday.
My Dad can't cook and his personal hygiene is poor but he "forgot" to tell me his career was going away until a few days prior on the grounds "he would be fine".
Following a quick search I called Helping Hands slightly nervously as
my Dad generally doesn't like anyone different / replacing his regular career.
According to my Dad a very lovely person then visited him with his regular career and organised cover for 2 weeks.
And to my Dad's surprise (and mine) the careers that then visited were even nicer. Super efficient, very caring, very good company. All in all - simply excellent.
In fact the whole service has been superb. Really superb.
Well done and many thanks to all at Helping Hands.

We have used Helping Hands (Hertford) for a number of years now to support mum living in her own home.
Mum passed away recently at the age of 96, in her own home which is what she always wanted. We could not have managed this without the support of Helping Hands and the amazing carers that have attended
mum over the years. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers and mum grew to appreciate their kindness and hard work over that time.
We agreed a support plan right at the beginning of mum's care but, this was always going to be a fluid document that needed editing, changing and updating as time progressed. This always felt like a team effort with good communication between myself and the team at all times. It was also easy to add additional visits when we were going away.
My thanks and heartfelt appreciation to all involved with the Hertford Team in looking after mum, right up until the end.

I can't speak highly enough of the Letchworth Helping Hands team. They have been supporting my elderly neighbour for the last few months and I am so impressed with the level of care provided. I have been very pleased with the service and company provided. My carer is always on time and is very pleasant company. He is very helpful around the flat. As well as his help I enjoy our conversations and we have got to know each other well. He has been very encouraging in helping me with my exercise
and walking. I look forward to his visits. Substitutes have also been very helpful.

We are happy with the care provided from Helping Hands. We have the same carer every week which is vital as the client has Alzheimer's disease. He always turns up early, pleasant and engaging. On occasions we have had other carers to cover leave etc. Again happy with the replacement carers .Communication
from the company is good. I would and have recommended Helping Hands to others.

We found Helping Hands very useful in that it allowed my aged father to remain in his own home and live an acceptable level of independent living. Helping Hands were always flexible to varying situations and the level of service was always high. The carers were always very supportive and developed a
bond with my father.

My father-in-law had Helping Hands coming in to see him for about 4 months, from November 2024 to February 2025, after he was discharged from Rehab.
Firstly we had very little notice that he was being discharged but this didn't phase Helping Hands and they managed to set up a care package and start
visiting my father-in-law within 48hrs.
All of the carers treated him with dignity and respect, Encouraged him to help himself and helped him to gain his confidence back after being unable to walk for weeks. They helped him with his personal care, to prepare meals and drinks and assist him with his medication.
They gave us total confidence that he was being looked after and supported that we even managed to have some time away, which we hadn't been able to do for over 3 years.

The carers have been coming in to me for over a year and when I wanted to increase my visits from 1 to 3 it happened straight away. They do take care of all my domestic needs really well supporting me with domestic and personal needs. When they do my shopping they will also go and do the extra bits
like sorting my hearing aids and watch batteries. Nothing is too much trouble they allow me to stay at home and I look forward to their visits

Helping Hands have been fantastic in helping our family member, who has dementia, live a safe and dignified life at home. We couldn't manage without them. They help us with daily care calls as well as transport and accompaniment for additional health appointments, a weekly shopping visit, and support
with social trips too. The office staff are fantastic, always responding quickly and doing what they can to help us. The carers are excellent. They're always kind and patient, and make sure to pass on anything they notice either with our family member or around the house, noting things like changes in mood, any repairs that need doing, etc. Can't thank the staff enough and we're very grateful to them!

My husband, generally has a 2 hour visit weekly and 99% of the time he has the same carer who now feels like a friend to us both. He has very poor mobility and has mixed dementia. I deal with his day to day care but the carer provides great company for him and they always go out for a walk (my husband
on his scooter). From the first moment we met her I knew she understood his needs. My husband enjoys his time with the carer enormously and the stimulation she gives him with chats and laughter are just what he needs. One of the aspects of Helping Hands that is particularly valuable to us is that I am able to change arrangements easily - cancelling if we are going away or book an extra call when required.

I had arranged for my uncle to have weekly visits from Helping Hands some months ago as he was starting to need some more help at home. I am his nearest supporter and live 300 miles away. The organisation and visits were professionally organised, tailored to his needs and incredibly caring.

This

week he had an emergency admission to hospital and the support we received was exceptional. Nothing was a problem. Additional visits were arranged to take him clothing and supplies, a short notice change of schedule to bring him home which was only possible when a particular member of staff came in on her day off to facilitate this. Another member of staff works tirelessly to arrange daily visits for him to enable him to be well supported until I can come down and take control in person.

Without their wonderful support we managed to make a very distressful situation for my uncle much more manageable.

I will be forever grateful.

My wife has had Alzheimer's for the last five years, and in that time has broken her wrist and had a stroke debilitating her left side. She is bed bound and for the last 3 years Letchworth Helping Hands have visited her 3 times a day, without fail, tending to all her needs. Their Carers are always
cheerful, competent and patient dealing with her very variable moods. They have also provided a respite sitting service, allowing me free time, during which they both keep my wife company and look after my small home doing the cleaning, washing ironing and other household chores. I couldn't cope without their support.

I have been with helping hands for over 2 years, I use this service for companionship and to support me out in the community and to any appointments I may need help with. I have been enjoying going out and going to the garden centre also shopping and help with gardening and visiting friends. I look
foward to my weekly visits and enjoy them very much, my family do not live close by so this gives me a good opportunity to get out and be independent. I also know if I need any extra help that the service is always here for me to support me if my circumstances change.
