Carers arrive as expected — on time. Always neat and tidy. Have always been willing to deal with my needs, which can vary from time to time. Carers can make you feel that you are the "only" one, so that you don't feel pressured and make sure that any special needs are dealt with. Always check I am safe in all ways before end of visit.

We find the service and help given to us very good, helpful and kind.

Overall, we are quite satisfied with the care my brother is receiving, however, we have had to remind office staff that information keeps getting lost somehow. My brother enjoys the visits and his flat is kept clean with bedding changed regularly. The carers don't read instructions for preparing frozen foods, and we have had to mention it several times.

Everyone that I have had any communication with or have met from Home Instead have always been professional, friendly and helpful. They have dealt with and cared for my mum very well. They have been very helpful to her and sympathetic to her needs. I have every confidence that that experience will continue as they carry on helping her to remain at home.

My mother loves the visits from Home Instead. Whenever I am with her she says, 'I'm so lucky to have them!' They are kind, she loves the company (and the Scrabble!). They always go the extra mile. Being able to stay in her own home is a huge deal for her and Home Instead make that possible. From my point of view, it removes the worry I used to have that she wasn't coping on her own.

Mum is very happy with the care and the carers. She has become fond of them. I know she enjoys the chat but I would like to see more activity. She needs exercise and fresh air so it would be good if she was taken out even to the garden or the park which is nearer than they supermarket.

Our experience with Home Instead has only been positive. A rota of carers visit my mother morning and evening, along with a couple of social visits each week. All the carers are kind and thoughtful and my mum looks forward to seeing them everyday,

Additionally, we have been very impressed with the proactivity from the carers and the office staff. They often come up with helpful suggestions of how to improve my mum's quality of life.

We have been able to increase care gradually as needed. It takes the worry away from family knowing that someone is going into the house each day and checking that father is okay, giving him some company and a helping hand.

I came to Home Instead (Monmouthshire), absolutely frazzled and worn out in trying to do my best for my mother who has dementia and a desire to remain in their own home. I felt as though I needed to be an expert in everything to try and get the right equipment and care. From my first call to the office and then with the care manager, I have felt listened to and supported. The team are knowledgeable, proactive and compassionate and have done more in a very short timescale that I could have hoped for. In seeking to help my mother, they have also helped me. My mother is responding to their kindness which is so lovely to see. I recommend the Monmouthshire team wholeheartedly.

Although there were some frequent carers, my Aunt found it difficult to relate to the actual number of different carers.She mixed up names etc

As a new client of the Abergavenny Home Instead team, I've been super impressed both with the professionalism and availability of staff within the office and especially with the; skills, helpfulness and compassion shown by each of the Carers. The daily visits to support my father are reliable, always on time and it's a great relief to know that the Carers really understand how to provide an excellent personalised service, are empathetic to the needs of the families they visit and flexible in the help that they provide. My wife's carers are wonderful. They are respectful, punctual, cheerful and positive. They bathe and chat to her every day and she is responding very well to the extra attention. They are easy to get on with and help each other arrange suitable visit times which we request and complete tasks - also covering each others' leave days. It has made the experience of bring someone into the home so much easier. We can get on with being a family instead of worrying about personal care.

I like the punctuality of the carers. The carers treat me with dignity. The carers are always pleasant, patient and take care of me. The quality and conduct of the carers is the best part of the operation. I don’t like when carers out of the team arrive, that are not from the Pontypool office.
