Home Instead Ivybridge have cared for my mother for the past couple of years and in every way the entire team, both the administration and carers, have been exemplary. They have managed to keep my mother so well cared for in her own home and then also when she has been in hospital & a nursing home
for the final three months. They have gone beyond their duties and have been so loving to her. As I live in Australia and have been unable to take care of her as I have wished I could, knowing that my mother has had daily, reliable, trustworthy and amazingly loving companionship has relieved my heart immensely. I cannot thank everyone enough and I certainly cannot recommend them more highly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have made a huge difference in my mother's life and also in mine.

Home Instead are extremely responsive to the needs of my father, who is now beginning to be quite frail (at the age of 93). They listen carefully to our concerns and interests for our dad and always treat him with humour, kindness and respect. They are efficient and punctual.
The care plan and task
lists for his daily routines are updated regularly and include a range of supportive activities that enable him to continue to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life. He clearly enjoys the company of the carers, who bring warmth, cleanliness and a sense of security into his home.
This would be extremely difficult without their support.
The App enables us to keep up to date with our dad's progress on a daily basis, plus Martin and the management team are also readily accessible, they communicate efficiently and costs are clearly explained.
Our dad's quality of life is much improved as a result of all this.

I like having different carers to see me and value their help with things I find difficult. However, I do feel that writing up notes should not be done in client's time. This can take up to 15 mins.

Home Instead seems to match clients with carers because I have enjoyed having all my carers to help me. They are very understanding, and as I talk a lot about getting better, they have allowed me to gradually do more for myself under their supervision. Although I have a long way to go, I can do far
more than I could - walk further, make a drink, cook using the microwave (and main cooker in the last month), and generally help me to do what I am capable of. They don't keep me back - they help me. I appreciate this encouragement a lot.

I have had support from Home Instead for several years now, including a period with an injured toe. I have been satisfied with the care I have received and it has enabled me to stay home-based, which is important to me. I also appreciate the social side of visits as I am fairly home-bound.

As my Mum's dementia got worse, my sister and I felt it would be good to get her some help in the home. She was reticent at first, but the lovely lady from Home Instead soon overcame Mum's reservations and they became firm friends. It was a big relief to us that we had someone who was kind and patient
looking after her. We would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead.

My husband has short term memory loss, we have had personal care for him gradually increasing from 3 days to 7 days per week. We are delighted with the service and care that he receives from all his carers.
Recently we have had extra care with meals. My only criticism would be that we don't always
know what time they are coming or who is coming. As most of the meals are pre prepared this makes it difficult to know what time to switch the oven on and when to put the meal in the oven.I appreciate that you sometimes have staffing problems but a phone call on the day would be helpful..

I am impressed with the care, commitment and boundless good humour of the carers who visit my mum. It is the same small group and mum has built a good relationship with them all.
My mum is very houseproud which they respect and leave her flat just as she would like it.
Home Instead will always contact
mum if there are any changes or delays with the carers.
We as a family are very impressed with the standard of care. Thank you.

Unfortunately my husband is no longer well enough to travel to visit our youngest son's family that includes young grandchildren, who live in America. I felt conflicted by both wanting to visit them but not leave my husband on his own, and Home Instead provided a marvellous solution! Initially reluctant,
as I think most people are, he came round to having a daily visit from carers while I was away and quickly began to enjoy and value the sensitive and very personal care they provided. Respite is essential for full time carers and Home Instead not only cared brilliantly for my husband but enabled me and my family to have a worry-free break. I shall definitely ask for their support in future.

The Home Instead team looked after my husband for the last 6 months, starting with just a few hours and then increasing as the need arose until he passed very recently. The staff were cheerful, well trained, understanding and kind. They were a huge help for me. The carers well selected and we all
got on well. They were all part of a regular team.
I could not have done it without them.

We have recently started using Home Instead Ivybridge to help care for our 92 year old mother living alone many miles away from the rest of the family.From the first we were impressed by the understanding and empathy expressed by the Director, Manager, and other administrative staff. The visiting carers
have been wonderfully supportive,kind,helpful,calm and considerate.
The whole team responded immediately and professionally to a subsequent fall our mother had at home by providing seamless cover and support throughout including taking her to A&E,staying with her there for many hours wait for tests and to see a Dr and then returning her safely home ensuring she was settled for the night. We felt as reassured and confident of their care as if we ourselves had been with her. They provided immense relief in a very stressful situation and we cannot thank them enough.

My Sister and I have been delighted with our choice of using Homestead At Tavistock to look after our Dad a widower who his wish was to live out his life at home. As we lived away Homestead provided a solution.
The team at Homestead were a deliight to work with, very professional but also very friendly,
helpful and would always find time to have conversations with Dad.
Dad at first, like a lot of people he was reluctant to have help, but he quickly came round and enjoyed the carers company. We will forever be grateful to the team at

I contacted Home Instead after failing to find any convenient residential respite care options for my mother who lives with us. She is adamant that we should not restrict our lives as her support needs increase.
I was impressed with this service from the start - web site, initial contact, Rachel's
care assessment consultation in our home also taking in mum's life history and interests, the free return visit to introduce the selected carers so mum would know them before they attended and choice of suitable times for a care visit, and the app that allows me to log in and check the care record for each visit (with mum's consent). This whole process has been very reassuring for both mum and I. The recent care visits during a short trip away went well and mum was very happy with her carers. We've already booked again for a future planned holiday.
Home Instead deserve their Outstanding CQC assessment result. I highly recommend their very holistic and personalised services.

Absolute excellent 5 star service, friendly, kind and always with a smile. My mum was a little nervous before we engaged Home Instead, but they have proved to be outstanding and Mum looks forward to their visits, as they have time to have a chat as well as showering/washing Mum. I would highly recommend
them to anyone thinking about getting some extra help for their loved ones.
