Always professional and efficient, she asked the right questions, talked us through everything we needed to know, gave useful advice, was calm and reassuring, and assisted with my mother's personal care needs and mobility. I was very impressed with their punctuality even when dealing with multiple road works and deviations, and the way in which they looked for extra tasks to do after helping with my personal care. They were always cheerful, caring and determined to make my life easier .

Home Instead Ivybridge have cared for my mother for the past couple of years and in every way the entire team, both the administration and carers, have been exemplary. They have managed to keep my mother so well cared for in her own home and then also when she has been in hospital & a nursing home for the final three months. They have gone beyond their duties and have been so loving to her. As I live in Australia and have been unable to take care of her as I have wished I could, knowing that my mother has had daily, reliable, trustworthy and amazingly loving companionship has relieved my heart immensely. I cannot thank everyone enough and I certainly cannot recommend them more highly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have made a huge difference in my mother's life and also in mine.

I like having different carers to see me and value their help with things I find difficult. However, I do feel that writing up notes should not be done in client's time. This can take up to 15 mins.

I have had support from Home Instead for several years now, including a period with an injured toe. I have been satisfied with the care I have received and it has enabled me to stay home-based, which is important to me. I also appreciate the social side of visits as I am fairly home-bound.

As my Mum's dementia got worse, my sister and I felt it would be good to get her some help in the home. She was reticent at first, but the lovely lady from Home Instead soon overcame Mum's reservations and they became firm friends. Recently we have had extra care with meals. My only criticism would be that we don't always know what time they are coming or who is coming. As most of the meals are pre prepared this makes it difficult to know what time to switch the oven on and when to put the meal in the oven.I appreciate that you sometimes have staffing problems but a phone call on the day would be helpful..
Communication is important for us so we will take the feedback on and ensure we have a plan to fix going forward.

Unfortunately my husband is no longer well enough to travel to visit our youngest son's family that includes young grandchildren, who live in America. I felt conflicted by both wanting to visit them but not leave my husband on his own, and Home Instead provided a marvellous solution! Initially reluctant, as I think most people are, he came round to having a daily visit from carers while I was away and quickly began to enjoy and value the sensitive and very personal care they provided. Respite is essential for full time carers and Home Instead not only cared brilliantly for my husband but enabled me and my family to have a worry-free break. I shall definitely ask for their support in future.

Home Instead initially attended to both our parents, and continued to do so, after losing our father. Mum speaks very highly of the carers, who are always punctual and consistent.
