Fantastic service! Managers listen and support me, particularly helping me reconnect with friends and cooking lovely food. The care professionals are very respectful and supportive. They let me make my own choices, which is very important to me.

Overall Experience

I'm an only child. Home Instead are calling for an hour, twice a week, to help care for my 85 year old mum who has early stage Alzheimer's. Tracey is the regular carer and has struck up a lovely relationship with her. I have found Home Instead professional, caring and informative as we, together, support Mum and her increasing needs.

Overall Experience

The Home Instead team primarily came to care for my Dad at a time where he needed more support for both his physical and mental well being. The office team were so supportive and quick to organise or rearrange care, and the 'care team' were all outstanding. All the staff caring for my Dad, and essentially my Mum and our family as well, treated him with such respect, dignity and compassion. I will forever be grateful for sharing those last few months with my Dad and all his carers where we laughed and were also sad together. They were an amazing team, and you should all be really proud of the work you do. Thank you.

I probably wouldn't go out myself now if I don't have this vist because I have lost a lot of confidence since Covid happened. My carer makes me feel safe and comfortable and is always there when I need her. We have lots of adventures together and are now known as Thelma and Louise !

I support my husband at home who lives with Alzheimer's and I find this afternoon break very helpful as it makes me feel good and ready to start again.

Overall Experience
It was difficult to encourage my mam to have support as she is a very independent lady. She was very nervous and not very happy about me talking her into having a companion. It took a few weeks but once mam settled into the visits she now couldn't imagine her life without them. This was down to the professionalism of HomeInstead, making her feel at ease and supporting her in a person centred way. The carers and office staff have been so lovely with her. Mam feels her carer goes above and beyond to find things for them to do. Her carer is very attentive and she listens. She remembers everything mam says and relates back to things weeks later. She treats mam with dignity and encourages her independence. Mam can get very lonely at times and really looks forward to her visits. She laughs so much and the smile on her face when she comes in after her visit is like pure gold.

Mam now feels like HomeInstead are part of her family.

Overall Experience

In the final weeks of her life, my wife received wonderful care. All the carers were absolutely superb. They arrived on time, were gentle, kind, and yet quietly efficient and obviously well-trained and organised. They sometimes even stayed a bit beyond their allocated time to offer extra support and comfort for my wife and I. They fitted in with our wishes and ways to such an extent that she actively welcomed their visits and saw several of them as genuine friends. The carers were backed up by excellent office staff, who again were deeply supportive. I cannot think of any way their service could be better, and so I recommend Home Instead without hesitation to anybody needing care at home. I hope you can pass on my thanks and admiration to the Gosforth team. I shall always remember their help and human generosity.

Excellent help when I needed it during a family emergency. I was able to have flexible back up when leaving my mum to visit my daughter. Mum needed someone I could trust to keep her company in the evening.

We did a lot of research on the services available before selecting Home Instead to support mum. We definitely feel that we made the right choice. Mum is so happy with the member of staff who provides her care and support, and we feel confident that mum is in really safe and capable hands.

Everyone we've had contact with has been really helpful and supportive, and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Home Instead.

I was not happy with the care company the council had placed me with so I decided to look for a private care provider. I liked the look of Home Instead and after a visit from Debbie, the Client Experience Manager, I knew I had made the correct decision. Debbie was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable; she answered any queries that I had. The management of the company is first class; the staff are friendly, approachable and efficient and it is clear that they have a good caring relationship with their team of carers, the important people who deliver the service. I have a small team of carers who visit me, each of whom was introduced to me beforehand. Everybody is friendly, caring and competent and with a full hour visit there is no rushing and there's time for a chat. Of course, high quality care has a price and choosing Home Instead is a relatively expensive decision. However, care is a long-term necessity and high quality care enhances quality of life, that's worth spending money on

Overall Experience

The carers who attend my mother are genuinely lovely, thoughtful and helpful people. They have her sole consideration in mind and look after her needs extremely well. They take her out of the home to help keep her socialised, to attend appointments or go shopping. Communication with the family is excellent and reviews are regularly undertaken. My mother looks forward to her visits very much.

Overall Experience

I first engaged the services of Home Instead in July 2024. Over a year later, and the lovely care professionals that look after my parents are considered friends of the family, providing high quality, respectful care for my father who has dementia/Alzheimer's and companionship for my mother. Home Instead provide a service for people who wish to stay in their own home for as long as possible and they have certainly achieved this for my parents. A comprehensive brief was initially taken, and the care professionals were allocated to best suit our needs. Each carer has taken the time to develop a trusted relationship with the family in difficult circumstances and I personally will be eternally grateful for the kindness, empathy and professionalism provided by all at Home Instead. I have no hesitation at all in highly recommending them.

Mam has been supported by Home Instead for over two years now. She has a lovely relationship with her care professionals, all of whom know her so well and care for her with dignity, empathy and compassion.
Mam's needs have evolved over the last two years quite considerably but her team have proactively managed this, tweaking her care plan where necessary to ensure that the same high level of care has been maintained and delivered.
Knowing that Mam is being so well cared for gives me such reassurance and peace of mind. It has provided me with space to ensure my family life hasn't been negatively impacted. The support I have received from both Mam's Care Professionals and the Field Care Supervisors has been exceptional.

As we now embark on a period of live in care for Mam, whilst I am away from home for a while, I just wanted to say thank you, to you all, for everything you do for us.

It is incredibly difficult to find care companies which have achieved an Outstanding CQC rating & have maintained it as Home Instead has done since 2018.

From my very first enquiry with the company, to meeting the manager & care team, I was truly impressed. Meetings have been promptly arranged and queries responded to. All carers looking after my friend attended an introductory meeting with him, tour of the home and gained an understanding of my friend's needs. A weekly schedule of carers is provided in advance so that we can pin it up.

The care team has taken the time to get to know my friend, as well as meeting all of his personal care needs. They have cooked him his favourite meals, cleaned his bathroom & kitchen, sorted out his bedroom/clothing, & engaged with him on a personal level. We literally could not ask for anything more as the highest standards of care in all areas are being delivered.

I have absolutely no hesitation in unreservedly recommending this company.

From the moment I enquired about homecare for my elderly relative, I received friendly, informed, appropriate & relevant advice from the team at Home Instead. The carers who were matched up for my relative had a variety of backgrounds & previous experience, but all were attentive, caring, professional and determined to provide a service of the highest quality and always with a smile. The Home Instead team in the office & in the residential environment enabled us to keep my relative in her own home, which made a huge difference to her wellbeing & our peace of mind. Both my parents have built a strong relationship with their carer who understands and supports their needs extremely well - the visits are an essential part of their week both meeting my mother's care needs in her home and taking her to visit my Dad who is in now in a care home. The carer helps them holistically as a couple to cope and keep enjoying life and is not only a carer but a very good friend

We have found Home Instead to be completely reliable and efficient from the enquiry stage onwards.
They listened well to our requirements and still do when we make any changes to the weekly programme.
The carers have been excellent and complete the full hour slots. They arrive on time and don't rush away early.
Any issues arising on the day result in a phone call (or email if I am not answering) to put me in the picture.
Any emails I have sent to them have been answered promptly

At £34 an hour it is not the cheapest provider but well worth the money and my sisters and I would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone else.

Home instead have provided an excellent service for my client which has tangibly improved his quality of life and his wellbeing.
