Home Instead Tyne Valley (HITV) were recommended to me by a care professional last summer and we started using them from August 2024. My mum already had twice daily visits from a council-affiliated provider, for dispensing medication and ensuring she ate, morning and evening, but she also needed help
with shopping, getting out and companionship. HITV have also been very accommodating with taking her to arising appointments and to see her old friends in the area. The carers have been excellent at keeping my mum's spirits up and have great rapport with her. It has been a great relief to me, to have people I can trust to keep an eye on her, especially as we lived 400 miles apart. Now that I have moved my mum into a care home nearer me, we no longer need the service but, had she been able to stay in her home, we would have continued using Home Instead indefinitely. There have, of course, been some glitches but these are to be expected and have not tainted our appreciation. Many thanks!

We have been delighted with the service provided, the staff are incredibly helpful, attentive and responsive. The carers are friendly, caring and strive to help. They have been adaptive and struck up a lovely friendship with mum. Would highly recommend.

Whilst the client originally demonstrated reluctance to accept 'care', renaming the 'carers' as 'home helps' seemed to be acceptable to a previously very independent lady. She has subsequently developed good relationships with the ladies who call on her. It is particularly convenient to establish
a 'bespoke' system which suits client and Home Instead. The on-line shopping arrangement also works effectively. Thank you.

Both my parents have built a strong relationship with their carer who understands and supports their needs extremely well - the visits are an essential part of their week both meeting my mother's care needs in her home and taking her to visit my Dad who is in now in a care home. The carer helps them
holistically as a couple to cope and keep enjoying life and is not only a carer but a very good friend

My mother has recently started to be cared for by Home Instead. We had been recommended you by a friend. So far we have been extremely pleased with the service and my mother really likes her carers.
The only time we had a slight issue, the staff were very understanding, listened and made the alterations
required.

Really supportive service tailored to the needs of my mother in law, love the use of the app to keep me updated. Mother in law has built trusting relationship with her carers and talks positively about her time with them.

So far the twice daily visits to my Aunt have been very worthwhile . We know she is checked twice a day that she has eaten and taken her medication . Also she has the added attraction of company with these visits . We track the visits on the app which is an excellent way for the family to track the
care visits . All in all we are very happy .

Our first entry into the world of carers, what a good choice Home Instead has proved to be. Thorough in their arrangement of our requirements and assimilation of our interests, the delivery of the care we require has been first class. The small team selected to care for my wife have treated her with
dignity whilst maintaining a close and friendly relationship, chatting away as they carry out their tasks. We have never been let down by non-attendance and punctuality has been exemplary. Finally, communication with HQ is good, with information and updates flowing freely by either email or telephone.

The visits of Home Instead carers have made a positive difference to my very independent Mum who reluctantly agreed to 'give it a try' last June. Their role is simply to help Mum shower, wash her hair, to get dressed and ready for the day ahead. In the hour they are with her, they have made every effort
to get to know Mum and what she is interested in and I overhear them chatting and laughing away. Home Instead only ever sends carers who Mum has met and with whom she feels entirely comfortable. Each one has shown her great dignity, kindness and competence and they are always punctual whatever the traffic or weather. I live some distance away and have really appreciated the written reports I can see online after each visit - it makes me feel reassured and connected. The service thus far has been exemplary and I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead.

From my first meeting with the care manager of home instead I felt a weight had been lifted from us as the family of a much loved mother. The carers are professional, kind, patient and intelligent and the added bonus is their sense of humour which is so important. I feel that as her needs inevitably
change, they will cope without a fuss. The app is extremely useful as I live far away and can discuss whatever they have done together that day. I'd happily recommend the home instead service to anyone looking to keep their loved ones at home for as long as possible.

Home Instead provide reliable and thoughtful care for my mother. We get advance notice of the schedule of visitors which means that she knows who she is going to see on any given day.
The office staff are always helpful and understanding and we all feel that the care provision is very much tailored
to the specific needs of the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
I would not have any hesitation at all in recommending Home Instead to anyone looking for help to stay in their own home.

Since care was started last year we have increased the input from Home Instead to twice daily to include meal cover. Any increase in care has always been very quickly organised. The care team have always kept us updated about any concerns and have often gone above and beyond to support my mother including
helping to organise appointments which fit their schedule so they can take her. The company have been careful to introduce new carers to my mother and all the care team have taken time to try and understand my mother's interests and things she likes. They also undertake a number of household tasks. Contact is very easy even with last-minute requests. I would definitely recommend this care company to anyone looking for high-quality care with a lot more than just basic provision of care.

Home Instead has cared for my husband since his discharge from hospital several months ago, responding quickly to our enquiry and enabling us to get him home as soon as possible.
At all times, they have treated him with kindness and respect and good humour.
The Home Instead app is a useful tool
that allows us to see the schedule of carers, times etc. as well as the documented care given.

As it was my first time looking for care for my elderly mum I was hoping for a personal approach where she wouldn't be rushed through her personal care and a relaxed friendly attitude from the carers who came to the house. That's exactly what I have received and more importantly, I can see that as my
mum's condition deteriorates I am also going to receive the benefit of their empathy and understanding. I like that the carers coming to the house are experienced, live locally and seem genuinely interested in their clients and their backstories.
