My nephew received excellent service from the helping hands carers. He had severe swollen legs for two months there care and constant creaming and time spent on massaging his legs made them all go down and the skin healed up lovely.The carers at home were creaming but not spending time massaging his legs. They were all very friendly and chatty which made him comfortable from the start.Well done team.

Overall Experience
My MIL has received care from Helping Hands for a couple of years. Wherever possible the management team use a regular small group of carers for her 3 x a day care. The carers are all professional and patient with my MIL's changing needs and requests, and they strive to utilise their time as effectively as possible.

The office team are very responsive and do whatever they can to facilitate changing circumstances/needs. All together, this gives us peace of mind she is being well supported and her needs met. Overall we have had an excellent experience with Helping Hands.

Helping Hands visit my elderly mother several times a day and are very reliable. They help in a variety of ways, from getting her up and dressed in the morning to ensuring she has meals and medication. Although quite a number of different carers have come during the past few years, they have always been kind and pleasant. They ensure my mother is comfortable, safe and well cared for. I appreciate being able to view the itemised report after each visit, and the agency communicates well with me if they have any concerns.

My mother Brenda was on end of life care and we chose this company to see to her care needs she was kept comfortable and happy well cared for until her passing staff were considerate , professional carers Becca and her team of carers need recognition for there service. A handful of carers put a smile on my mums face Wanda , Georgia , Satnam ,her tinker Jamie , June ,Louise , Amy , Kristian , Luka , Pearl , Carys and a few others . I thankyou from the heart for the tears were shed at end of her life which you would understand how much they cared . Thankyou helping hands making my mums last few months special xx

My sister is cared for with kindness, compassion and concern - as if she was a family member. Nothing is too much trouble, and the carers go out of their way to make my sister comfortable, safe and happy. For example, on her 90th birthday, they surprised her with a home baked birthday cake, a lovely card and tiara. This was in their own time. It made her day! There is nowhere else I would entrust the care of my sister to, and it is reassuring to know that when I can't be there, Helping Hands are looking after her.

I decided to go with helping hands as they had good reviews and did background/security checks. For the last 6 months they have looked after my husband 3/4 times a week to allow me to get out. He has Lewy body dementia which has progressed fast. At the start it was companionship and progressed to full care as his condition worsened. He made a connection with the very lovely Tracey and they accommodated us to get her each time. She treated him with respect and dignity and no grumbling at his war films on the tv. He went into a care home for more specialised treatment. Would 100% recommend.

Well, where do I start. Yasmin has become like a friend. Communication from her is excellent, care wonderful, carried out with such warmth and kindness. Makes suggestions which may assist my sister's care. They go the extra mile, on her 90th birthday in January this year they made a surprise visit to Jackie with a home baked cake and balloons. She was thrilled.

No praise is high enough for the carers we used during July and August. All have been really excellent, being very friendly, efficient and hard working.

A rapid decline in my wife's help, especially in mobility, means that we have needed to place her in a residential nursing home, but, if the occasion arose, we would certainly use Helping Hands again, and we will certainly thoroughly recommend your excellent service to others.

When we started to look for alternatives to hospitals and hospice care homes we discovered Helping Hands and from the initial consult with Jacqui we were impressed about the amount care and thoughtfulness during our conversations. I was the first to warm then of their potential new client in how tough, and challenging she would be - however, this did not phase the team one bit.
The selection process of the care team was great, the matching process always gave us great choices of carers. The investment of time that Helping Hands made to get the best support was incredible. And there is no enough space here to tell you how wonderful, compassionate and loving the care team were. From day 1 the connections were made and the team really made Dona feel comfortable and loved during her time at home.
I would highly recommend.

I reached out to Helping Hands for extra care for my mother who has early dementia and I can't recommend them enough. The nurses visit twice a day to help provide meals and address any other needs requested. All of the nurses are great and I have more of a life balance knowing they are there on a daily basis and my mother looks forward to seeing them too. Our care co ordinator , Grace is exceptional . Any concerns or extra help are addressed promptly and efficiently . The other team members are there when she is not available and I have no problems at all . If you need any support I would recommend Helping Hands. Initially they meet you in person in the environment of those needing care and work out the best plan that works for you which is reassuring from the start. The support is always there .

We had the BEST experience with Nam from Helping Hands Sunderland. She cared for my mother in law who suffered with dementia. Nam treated her with dignity and respect and she made what could easily have been awkward and embarrassing, fun and enjoyable. My mother in law looked forward to her visits and Nam became more like a friend than a carer. We had other carers, who although, did their job..........lacked the charisma and interpersonal skills shown by Nam. She really is a credit to Helping Hands as a care provider. Nam is only one person, but if every care company had a team full of "Nams"...............families would never worry about their loved ones being cared for by strangers again. Above and beyond all the way...........and made a bad situation more than bearable. I honestly dont have enough kind words to say and it was a pleasant experience which massively gave us peace of mind during a very tough time.

The Helping Hands team provided my Mum with the greatest care and support. She was initially resistant to having carers coming into her home. This changed over time and she was grateful for their help with medication. I noticed that the managers and carers would take the time to listen to her and do their best to action her request, or problem solve with us. The team cared for her safely, with dignity and with a wonderful sense of humour. They were interested in her. This approach enabled my Mum to have her desire to stay in her own home.

The team were very good at communicating with my Mum and me. The staff went out of their way to ensure that medication and care was current and required. I felt that there was a collective shared interest in Mum. This allowed me space in my own life, resulting in increased wellbeing. Thank you all, I am forever grateful.

We're very happy with Helping Hands. My brother-in-law has been using them for domestic care for over 2 years since his stroke, and we recently expanded their care to include daily personal care which was being handled by a different company. Helping Hands are always reliable and come when they say they will (or phone if unavoidably delayed). They have been very good with ensuring as much continuity of staff as possible and all the carers are really helpful, thorough and kind. It is our impression that the company takes good care of its staff as we have not seen much turnover. The management has also taken some good initiatives with other healthcare agencies to keep my brother in law in as good as health as possible. Very happy to recommend them.

Very satisfied with the personal care provided by carers from Helping Hands. We have some excellent regulars and a variety of other carers who are efficient, but lack the knowledge of the patients sometimes. Therefore maybe they need a shadow with each patient they are likely to meet. Timings are excellent now.

I have been using Helping Hands for the last five months following a stay in hospital, and I could not be more grateful, even though I see different carers every single one of them has been outstanding- always helpful, friendly and kind. They work with great initiative, doing everything that needs to be done without any prompting. They also go out of their way to do those little extra things that make daily life easier for me, feeling safe and confident in your own home is so important and their support during this difficult time has given me total peace of mind. I recommend them highly to anyone needing care after leaving a long stay in hospital.
