I couldn't recommend home instead enough. My grandmother was diagnosed with vascular dementia Alzheimer's however wanted to stay in her home and remain independent. With the support from the team we were able to fulfill her wishes. The whole team from admin to carers were kind, supportive and patient. Nothing was ever too much trouble and always kept us up to date and raised concerns if they needed to. We wanted to send a huge thank you to each and every one of you who have played a part in her care. We are very sad not to have you around now she has gone into a care home for round the clock care.
The service that's been received has been fantastic. It has brought joy and confidence back to my Mother-in-law and reassurance to me that she is being well looked after and has regular companionship. I fully recommend Home Instead to anyone needing support to stay in their own home.

Our dad has dementia and when our mum died unexpectedly in June this year we knew that it would be best for him to remain at home in a place he knew where he functions at his best. We also wanted to preserve his independence and dignity. We recognised that this could only happen with round the clock live in care. Home Instead quickly and efficiently put together a package of live in care for dad. They assessed his needs and his home with our input and created a bespoke care regime which enables him to do all of the activities he did with mum plus some extra outings and events. Dad's carers are all wonderful caring and engaged people. Plus we have the security of a messaging app system to communicate with Home Instead and access to dad's care notes which brings us peace of mind.

I have now been with Home Instead for over a year and I can genuinely say it was one of the best decisions that I made in providing support to my elderly mother. From the very first day I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The questions they asked and the tips they provided all pointed to them wanting to do a good job and obviously that job was to provide care for Mum and allow her to remain in her own house. Mum had slid a bit and I was only able to do so much, therefore its heartening to see an improvement in her and to know that she is eating better and also being assisted with personal cleaning.
It's also obvious that they have taken time to get to know her and the things she likes and dislikes so she is not just a number.
Lastly they also take time to have regular updates and whilst I have an open communication channel the reviews are helpful, particularly at the start of the relationship, to ensure that things are working well.
We all work together as a team and I have never regretted that initial decision to employ their services.
My Mum lives on her own, with the three of us kids and her only sister all living many miles away - she doesn't need to be in a care home but she does need some additional support and (even more importantly) a bit of companionship.
We first started to employ Home Instead a year ago, after Mum had an emergency op and was really discombobulated by that, and they were fantastic. We had a hiatus at the end of last year and the start of this year when it was all systems go to get Mum moved into accommodation which better suited her needs; now that she's settled, we've got Home Instead back in to continue that companionship.
What's really great is that they're very responsive to any questions, requests or suggestions, and the app is a brilliant way of us seeing home reports after each visit. Highly recommended!

Extra visits were required short notice - Rae sorted everything out making sure each visit was covered by someone known to my mum. This could have been really for me but the office staff of so supportive. W old 100% recommend Home Instead - all the carers who support us are so lovely and kind.

Home Instead Dorchester provided care visits to my Aunt and Uncle until he passed away in January 2025. They continued to look after my Aunt until June this year. Their staff have been kind, caring and many of them created a strong bond with my Aunt and Uncle. They were quick to inform me, close friends and family, the doctor's surgery etc when they had concerns about my Aunt and Uncle's health or general well being. The office staff were pro active and helpful adapting and increasing the care over time as needed. Thank you to you all for being great carers!

I find the company very professional. The care staff I have are always on time and you get at least one full hour never less. The carer has a very kind manner around my husband and is aware of his needs and temperament. Office staff always check that service meets our needs and keep us informed re holidays etc and if we need replacement carer. I have always wanted the same care staff and they have supplied this for us. Aware in future I will need more help and confident they will meet our needs.

We have found that the adult-to-adult support provided has enabled things previously unachievable.
Home Instead helped my grandma move back into her home after trying a care home for several months.
She didn't get along with her care home at all, she lost weight and was very unhappy.
We couldn't bear seeing her like this, so my wife got in touch with Home Instead to arrange home care for my grandma, and the difference since she returned home has been eye opening.
My grandma is much happier, is eating properly, and has regained her joy.
Our family will forever be grateful to Home Instead and their superb carers for facilitating this and for looking after my grandma so warmly.
Home Instead have been supporting my Father now with twice weekly personal care for 5 months. The care he has received from both carers has been outstanding. I have found the care service professional and efficient. It is daunting trying to manage my mother's care from a distance and my experience of the manager and the care professionals is very positive and supportive and they are always available if I have any issues. Any problems are dealt with promptly and I don't feel that I am dealing with all of this on my own. They have a good knowledge of working with dementia so are patient and understanding to my mother. I would recommend this service to others.

A brilliant, highly recommended Care Company - gold star. My mother-in-law has been looked after for quite a few months and has been treated like a family member. Suffering from dementia she has been cared for with dignity, patience, encouragement and love.
