My family started employing Home Instead Southampton for Personal Care and Household Services for my Mum and Dad in early 2020 and over the course of the next six years they provided an exemplary service, full of professionalism, efficiency and compassion. Both of my parents quickly came to view their Professional Carers as friends as well as carers. We were particularly impressed by their willingness to get stuck in when situations were difficult. For my sister and I who both lived some distance from our parents, their daily presence was incredibly reassuring. When my Dad passed away in 2021, the Professional Carers became a real lifeline for my Mum, whose life was immeasurably better because of their daily presence. From a more practical, operational perspective, Home Instead Southampton were similarly excellent. Quarterly Service Reviews undertaken without fail and helped to inspire full confidence in their commitment to the care of loved ones. Strongly recommended.

Charlie and the team at Home Instead have been wonderful. Right from the initial interview their attitude has been professional, kind and respectful. They put support in place really quickly and we were delighted that the team who would be looking after my mum came to visit before they came to deliver the care. When I asked Mum if she would like me to complete this review, she was very happy and said that all the carers were lovely. The fact that I can see on the app what the carer has done and how my mum has been is particularly useful as I live a long way away. My mum really enjoys her showers and the care and attention that the carers give her. As a family, we feel confident that they will let us know if there are concerns. At my mom's review we asked whether the visits could be at an earlier time of day and this was looked into and actioned more quickly than we could've hoped. We are so pleased that we got in touch with Home Instead.

Home Instead have been looking after my 88 year old Mum since January. Her physical and mental health have improved since then, as their carers have been so supportive and shown Mum such respect and friendship. The HomeInstead Team cared for my husband for over 4 years x 5 times per week and during that time, we saw the same carers, with just one or two changes. The care they provided in taking him for walks, preparing his lunch, changing pads and latterly as his dementia worsened showering him gave him some quality of life and enabled me to keep him at home for far longer than was expected. The support and friendship they showed me also helped during often very difficult times. They are an incredibly professional, kind, have immense patience and their specific training and understanding of dementia clearly helped our situation.
Carers were always on time and if they were running slightly late, the office would call to let me know.
When I needed to extend or arrange for additional care to allow me to do other things, the office staff were so helpful and accommodating, informing me which carer would looking after David.

Don had carers visit twice a week to do some general care and cleaning. Don enjoyed their company and it also gave me peace of mind to know he was regularly being looked after and I was able to have twice weekly updates using the very accessible app on my phone about his well being (I live over 6 hrs drive away and wasn't able to visit often due to distance and work commitments). When Don was found clasped at home, the careers ensured Don was taking into hospital and then continued to visit him there regularly which was very reassuring. Don most certainly benefited from having care at home meaning he could be relatively independent at the great age of 98.

All reviews are subjective. The only comparison I can make is with all care. I prefer Home Instead because you always send two carers who genuinely give me the respect due to an old man of 92. I am treated with respect, as well, but importantly, it's always.

The outstanding care from the care pros who visit Mum has made it possible for her to remain in her own home as she always wished. Although she is 94, with dementia and is very deaf, she is very independent. Care pros are friendly, resourceful and show great respect for her, always talking to her like an adult, and maintaining her dignity. They complete detailed twice-daily reports online which are shared with the family and this helps us feel free in touch with Mum as we live too far away to visit as much as we'd like. Because Home Instead prioritise continuity, carers know Mum well and pick up when she is unsettled or out of sorts. Communication with the care team is great - office staff are friendly, approachable and always helpful. They respond quickly to messages. Care has been adjusted smoothly to take account of Mum's changing needs. Our family is grateful for the genuine care provided by all of the team involved with our Mum.

We have used Home Instead South Lanarkshire to support both Mum and Dad for the last 3 or 4 years. Every member of the team is so warm, friendly and helpful and this has allowed them to remain in their home. My Dad had to go to a home latterly and the support the team from Home Instead gave was incredible and they were so supportive of us as a family and caring for my Dad. We have now kept Home Instead going into see my Mum daily now and knowing that someone is going into see her and help her in anything she requires gives us real peace of mind. I have nothing but praise for the care provided by Home Instead over a period of about 6 months. Initially this was one few-hour visit a week but then progressed to 3 one-hour visits a day as my wife's dementia symptoms worsened. I found all the care professionals to be highly expert in their roles and very responsive to my wife's needs, as they changed over time. Eventually even this proved not to be enough, and my wife had to enter a care home, but in no way was this this due to any failing on the part of Home Instead (HI). It was simply that I could not cope with her needs in the hours when Home Instead professionals were not present. I would also like to stress that I was also very impressed by the flexibility in timetabling shown by Home Instead, as our requirements changed fairly rapidly from one week to the next occasionally. In summary Home Instead come with my highest recommendation in all respects.
